The Brown Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is looking to fill a District Technician position.  The district is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual that is passionate about implementing conservation practices and working with Brown County landowners to achieve their conservation goals.  Applicants should have an understanding of the local agricultural practices in Brown County, where approximately seventy-five percent of the land use is cultivated land.  The District Technicians perform various technical and administrative tasks relating to many local and state programs and work in cooperation with landowners, other district staff members, and external partners to implement and manage those conservation programs.  The position requires someone who can communicate effectively and work independently in a busy environment to accomplish work tasks. Salary range for the District Technician position is $19.67-$25.96 per hour with starting salary of $19.67-$20.52 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience. Brown SWCD offers a benefits package that includes paid sick leave, paid vacation leave, paid holidays, health insurance, HSA account, and PERA retirement account.
