Cost Share Funds Available

Cost share funds are currently available to install erosion control and water management practices in Brown County.   Practices can include:  grassed waterways, terraces, riparian buffer strips, streambank, shoreland and roadside projects,  critical area stabilization, sediment retention, erosion or water control structures, diversions, waste management systems or cover crops.

Additional funding is available for drainage practices in the Cottonwood River and Watonwan River watersheds within Brown County.   Drainage practices that are eligible for funding include: drainage water management plans (DWMPs), controlled subsurface drainage, denitrifying bio-reactors, alternative tile inlets, and nutrient management plans.

Cost share for practices can usually pay up to 75% of the total cost of the practice.
