Conservation Contracts Cost-Share Program
The Conservation Contracts Program (formerly known as the State Cost-Share) provides funds to Soil and Water Conservation Districts for the implementation of conservation practices for the purposes of erosion or sedimentation control, improvements to water quality or water quantity, habitat enhancement, plant biodiversity, energy conservation, or climate adaptation, resiliency, or mitigation. Through the program, land occupiers can request financial and technical assistance from their local SWCD for the implementation of conservation practices according to locally approved policies.
Cost-Share applications will be reviewed and prioritized based upon the high priority problems identified in the Erosion Control & Water Management Program section of our Annual Plan. Brown SWCD Supervisors have set the following as a list of standard cost-share practices accepted for application consideration:
Typical conservation practices funded through the Conservation Contracts Program:
- Grassed Waterway
- Water and Sediment Control Basin (WASCOB)
- Terrace
- Diversions
- Grade Stabilization
- Critical Area Planting
- Filter Strip
- Cover Crop
